Tout d'abord une brève explication de ce qu'est un Géoparc. Il s'agit d'un site 
géologique d'importance où sont mis en valeur à travers des actions de protection 
et de valorisation, le patrimoine naturel et culturel du territoire. A noter que les 
réseaux de Géoparcs (GGN) sont soutenus par l'UNESCO. 

Depuis septembre 2013 Aso est fière de faire partie de ce réseau et d'ainsi pouvoir 
faire découvrir au plus grand nombre les richesses de sa région tel que sa caldeira 
(l'une des plus vaste du monde), son volcan...

Tous les week-end à 14 heures à Michi No Eki Aso vous pouvez assister à une 
courte vidéo suivie d'un exposé vous donnant de plus amples informations sur le 
Géoparc d'Aso. Mais même si tout est exclusivement en japonais il vous suffit de 
demander à n'importe quelle personne du staff et je ferais de mon mieux pour 
traduire en direct comme vous pouvez le voir sur la photo.


Hello everyone !

First i will give you a short explanation of what a Geopark is. It is in fact a geological 
site of scientific importance where natural and cultural heritage are highlighted by 
acts of promotion and preservation. Geoparks are promoted around the world by 
the Global Geoparks Network (GGN) wich is supported by the UNESCO.

Since september 2013 Aso is really proud to be a part of this network and then to
be able to introduce to as many as possible Aso area's wonders such as the caldera (one of the biggest of the world), the volcano...

Every weekends at 2pm at Michi No Eki Aso you can enjoy a short video followed by a speech which gives you more explanation about Aso's Geopark. Even if all the 
informations are given in japanese you can ask anyone from the staff and i'll do my 
best to translate directly to you as you can see on the following picture.
